My experience in both the geriatric psychiatric setting, and the discharge planning on the neuro-medicine floor, as well as my own personal experience with my mother/family utilizing hospice services, has provided a wonderful introduction into this field. Having worked with children and families earlier on in my career, I honed skills neccessary to facilitate resolution of family/intrapersonal conflicts and tension. Being able to bring those skills to the hospice setting would benefit clients work with.

Having been a Social Worker for for over 16 years, my experience has ranged from conducting individual, family, and group therapy in a non-profit setting, to working in a geriatric psychiatric setting, to discharge planning on a neuro-medicine floor. My intention, at this point is to pursue a Social Work position in a hospice setting/role, that will utilize my skills as a therapist, at that critical phase of life.
