About

As a young man fresh out of medical school, armed with a medical degree as my sole forte, I realized after working closely with patients and within charitable organizations, that there was not much that I could do to bring about change in the ever demanding and complex health care sector. For all aspects of health care services, the decision makers are usually business professionals with no medical background. I am well suited to dealing with issues affecting the healthcare sector and it is my hope to bring about a change for the better.

My experience, skill sets, educational background and knowledge make me the ideal candidate to develop and implement solutions to business problems within the healthcare industry -
With four plus years of progressive experience as a physician and a thorough and profound knowledge of the business side of healthcare through my MBA Healthcare Administration degree, I can help create a union of medicine and business which would benefit society in general and add value to a healthcare provider in particular.
I am an individual of many skills: highly creative, methodically organized, responsible, an efficient multi-tasker and a polyglot. I have the ability to determine issues and develop the right action plans from both the medical and business perspectives.
Within the MBA program and as an associate at a consulting firm, I have demonstrated the ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analysis.
I have the ability to be empathetic and compassionate without compromising work ethics. In addition to being a great listener, I am selfless, yet self confident. In life, I never forget to treat everyone with the utmost respect as I am completely aware that 'When the game is done, the King and the Pawns go back into the same box' (an Italian proverb).
I have experience in numerous leadership roles: from the school captain to the President of the Leo club of the Lions Club of Bombay (South) Hill. From the project leader of the Lions Club of Bombay (South) Hill to the International Week and Night Coordinator at the University of Portland. Serving as the school captain, I proactively worked with the PTA, the teachers, and management board to achieve a high profile for the student body. I acted as a conduit by which the concerns and aspirations of the student body could be communicated to the governing body and I provided a positive public profile for the student body especially at formal events. I encouraged and coordinated intra- and inter-school student sponsored events.

As the President of the Leo Club, I served as the chief executive and presided at all meetings of the board of directors and the club; issued the call for regular and special meetings of the board of directors and the club; appointed the standing and special committees of the club and cooperated with chairpersons to effect regular functioning and reporting of such committees. I was an active member of the district governor's advisory committee of the zone where the club was located. These duties have helped underline my strong project management and people management skills.
Serving as a visiting physician at the Ozanam Clinic of The Society of Saint Vincent De Paul, I have helped in the treatment of the poor and destitute of Mumbai city. That work created in me a true sense of compassion, diligence and innovation. Additionally, within a year of joining the hospital, the Superintendent and the Managing Committee recognized my exceptional abilities and chose me (a junior doctor) to sit in for the Superintendent and manage the administration of the hospital when he was out on business or personal leave.

An exceptional healthcare executives' position requires multi tasking, a thorough knowledge and insight of the health care system, collaborating closely with decision makers, and not just leading, but being an active member of a team where new concepts and ideas are formulated. Such a position would suit my abilities and experience. After all, 'Ability is what one is capable of doing. Motivation determines what one does. Attitude determines how well one does it' (Raymond Chandler) and I encompass ability, motivation and attitude many-folds.
