Pharmacist

Job Description:

Responsible for the accurate dispensing of both inpatient and outpatient medication orders, maintenance of medication profiles, the preparation and dispensing of IV piggybacks, large volume IVs, and syringes. Additional responsibilities include making dosing recommendations to physicians based on approved kinetic dosing programs for certain medications, implementing and monitoring protocols and procedures for therapeutic interchange, and formulary management. It is the responsibility of the pharmacist to supervise and approve the work done by the technician before dispensing. The pharmacist is the first line supervisor of the supportive personnel in the day to day activities. Patients of all ages are served. Implements and abides by customer service standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. BS Pharmacy degree required. Advanced degrees such as Pharm D. or MS Pharm are helpful but not required.Hospital experience preferred, but not required.a) Undergraduate - internship in hospitalb) Post graduate experience in hospital environment preferredc) Community experience may be acceptable Licensure by the Minnesota State Board of Pharmacy or eligibility for same required.
