St. Thomas More Medical Complex is looking to fill an opening for a Manager of Respiratory Therapy in Hyattsville, MD! St. Thomas More Medical Complex a Skilled Nursing Facility with a 240-bed capacity, located close to the Catholic University on the MD/DC border, seeks an independent, energetic and self-motivated Full-Time Manager of Respiratory Therapy

Job Requirements:

Applicants must hold a current Maryland RN or RT license & CPR certification, have at least 3 years of experience and be computer literate. Salary is commensurate with experience up to $90K.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees the selection and general direction of respiratory care personnel. Duties include scheduling, supervising respiratory therapists, ordering of supplies, managing a budget and billing.
• Develops, implements, and controls the provision of therapeutic resident/patient care services in accordance with the policies of the company.
• Identifies and requests cost-effective resources to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, budgets and customers.
• Markets the services of the company to hospitals and larger specialty physician practices (allergists, pulmonologists, ENTs).
• Develops policies governing the use and availability of respiratory care services, including the development of care guidelines.
• Provides overall administration of department programs in accordance with accepted national standards within the guidelines of the hospital. Maintains department within current state, federal and local regulation requirements.
• Develops programs for the orientation of in-service education of technical and supportive respiratory care personnel and others as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains statutory, company, and ad-hoc records and reports.  Completes RT documentation (minutes) as required per the MDS schedule.
• Conducts resident/patient rounds to observe response, review orders, records, compliance, use of apparatus, etc.
• Attends daily census and other periodic meetings as required.
• Works with VP of Clinical Services, VP Rehabilitative Services, Nursing and other Therapy disciplines in meeting Facility goals.
• Participates in ongoing facilities committees (i.e., Quality Assurance, Safety), and maintains current knowledge of literature and references regarding respiratory services.
• Serves as the clinical subject matter expert for respiratory therapy.
• Identifies issues and remedies them through continuous customer satisfaction data and other tools and corrective actions.
