UCH-Carrollwood offers comprehensive medical and surgical care, as well as a number of specialized services. It features one of the most advanced 24-hour emergency facilities in the area and is quickly becoming known as Tampa's premier center for orthopedic spine surgeries. Also available is a wide range of radiological procedures are available for diagnosis and treatment of injuries or illness. Offering diagnostic imaging from X-rays to ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, computerized axial tomography (CT) scans, MRI and special procedures. Advanced technology is available in the surgical service area for gynecologic, vascular surgery and joint replacement procedures. Comprehensive recovery facilities are also available including Intensive Care and Progressive Care units.
The Medical Technologist performs laboratory testing in accordance with the Division of Clinical Laboratory Standards and pursuant to Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Chapter 64B3-13.003. Perform competency validated laboratory procedures ordered by appropriate Medical Staff and Physician. Oversees the day-to-day operations of various lab sections in the absence of a Supervisor or Senior Technologist.
Shift Availability: Part-time, 7A-3:30P
Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree preferred. Science degree meeting state licensure requirements (64B3-5.003), Medical Technology, preferred. Must possess current Florida license for - Technologist certified in Microbiology, Hematology, Chemistry and Immunology with minimum 2 years experience. Greater than 2 years experience in at least Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology and Microbiology preferred.
