Physician Assistant

Job Description:

The Hospitalist Physician Assistant is a member of the hospitalist team providing care for medical patients and families and serving as a resource to nursing, social services, spiritual care staff, and other patient care providers. The Physician Assistant's main function is to assess, plan, evaluate, implement, and coordinate care of medical patients under the direction of the hospitalist service. Care is performed through a collaborative practice agreement with the Centra Care Clinic Hospitalists. Patients of all ages served. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards and Code of Conduct. Graduate from accredited physician assistant program required.Minimum of three years direct patient care experience in the area of internal medicine, family practice, geriatrics or oncology. Experience in acute care is preferred. Demonstrated competence in teaching, organization, leadership, communication and research. Orientation will be given to obtain desired entry-level competence in lieu of experience. Basic Life Support & Advanced Cardiac Life support (BLS/ACLS) required. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification required. Minnesota Registration required.
