Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Description:

The Nurse directs and coordinates the medical/nursing activities related to the daily care of the residents.  The nurse is expected to assess, plan, direct, and evaluate the application of nursing practice to resident care.  He/she ensures communication and coordination of resident care.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or nursing school experience with individauls with mental retardation and/or disabilities preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Practice safe and effective nursing care of the residents of the Heinzerling Foundation as defined by law and policies of the Heinzerling Foundation.
• Maintain documentation, satisfactory to the Board of Nursing, for maintaining current licensure in the state of Ohio.
• Maintain current knowledge of duties, responsibilities, and accountabilities for safe nursing practice.
• Maintain accurate resident records document changes in residents' condition and parties notified.
• Participate in annual Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP) with preparation and presentation of information.
• Abide by the policies and procedures of the Heinzerling Foundation and Heinzerling Developmental Center.
