Job Description:
Reviews requisitions from Caritas Hospitals and places purchase orders with vendors to supply those needs. Works closely with the hospital Staff to make sure required goods and services are ordered and delivered in a timely manner, at the correct price. Resolves vendor back-orders, incorrect shipments, incorrect pricing, and open orders. Works with hospital Materials Management Staff and vendors on product returns, product availability and recalls. Covers other Buyers’ purchasing responsibilities as necessary. · Maintains timely and accurate data regarding supply prices, delivery lead times, reorder points, quantity number, item number, cost account number and vendor data Runs MM-A/P Exception Reports to to quantify invoice exceptions, works to resolve the exceptions on a weekly basis maintaining reports that are less then 5 working days in the rears to maximize payment terms.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate with courses in business and/or accounting, Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience in purchasing, inventory control or medical sales. 1-2 years of work experience in purchasing, good interpersonal and phone skills; good analytical and problem solving abilities; good judgment with high business ethical standards in carrying out responsibilities; computer literacy with the ability to competently use Meditech Client Server and various Windows-based word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
