Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center (Caritas Good Samaritan) in Brockton, Massachusetts, is a full service, acute care, Catholic hospital licensed for 212 beds, 17 bassinets, and 10 Special Care bassinets. Our commitment to providing quality care and excellent service has been recognized. The medical center recently scored in the top seven percent (7%) of hospitals nationwide for patient satisfaction. The Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations recently scored the facility 91 points of a possible one hundred. The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons awarded Caritas Good Samaritan the highest rating possible for a community hospital cancer program, that of Community Hospital Comprehensive Care Program.

We are currently seeking a Nursing Informatics Manager.

In collaboration with the Department of Nursing, Caritas Information Services (IS), Hospital Information Management Directors, Medical Staff Office, and other ancillary departments, the Manager of Nursing Informatics (MNI) will participate in the planning, implementation, and support of all clinical informatics projects at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. E.O.E

 

Reporting directly to the CNO, with matrix reporting to the Chief Medical Information Officer, the primary responsibilities of the MNI will include support for MEDITECH clinical applications (PCS, BMV, and PCM) and other computer systems supporting patient care.

 

In collaboration with the Advanced Clinical Systems Steering Committee, Director of Clinical Applications-IS department, and the Managers of Nursing Informatics at the other Caritas Hospitals, the Manager of Nursing Informatics will support the standardization, quality, and optimization of clinical computing within the MEDITECH environment.

 

Working collaboratively with clinical staff at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, the MNI will be responsible for ensuring optimum planning of IS projects and resources, and be responsible for the defining the training and support of clinical personnel in the use of information technology.

Job Requirements

1.      Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred.

2.      Extensive managerial experience in complex clinical programs involving the use of electronic order entry, clinical documentation, and medication management.

3.      Experience with MEDITECH computer system and/or extensive experience with other clinical information systems. Experience with MEDITECH PCS/BMV/PCM/OE preferred.

4.      Strong program development skills and ability to analyze and assess informatics needs and have experience with educational programs.

5.      Experience in policy writing.

6.      Ability to work in a matrix reporting structure.
