Select Specialty Hospital - Milwaukee (St. Luke's Campus) is a 29 bed facility that combines the specialized expertise of a large hospital with the personalized attention of a smaller setting.
POSITION SUMMARY
In addition to the daily (Monday-Friday) on-site activity, the Pharmacist or his/her designee will be available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week via home phone or beeper. Under broad policy guidelines, the incumbent is responsible for the total operation of the pharmacy service. He/she must provide departmental planning and formulate policies and procedures for the pharmacy service. He/she may assist in the teaching of students and house staff where applicable. This position’s primary responsibility is supervision of staff, including the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline employees, to adjust their grievances, or to recommend such action. This position is required to use independent discretion and judgement with respect to supervisory and management decisions and recommendations. This position does not provide direct patient care.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy and WI State licensure. A minimum of three (3) years of hospital experience is desired or will work under the direction of a consulting pharmacist. Must meet requirement of thirty (30) hours of continuing education every two (2) years. Must exercise sound administrative and professional judgement using initiative consistent with a high level of resident care. Requires the ability to work efficiently and under broad guidelines, and must frequently exercise his/her own judgement in decision making. Requires participation in committees which demand poise and the ability to communicate effectively, both administratively and professionally. Regularly works with confidential information. Requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours. The position requires the ability to perform essential functions without posing a “direct threat” in the workplace.
