Administering an Injection to a Patient

Some RMA's may be nervous when giving an injection for the first time or at any time.  They do not like to hear patients complain how painful it is.  I would like to pass on to the RMA's and the CMA's on how to give a virtually painless injection to a patient:

Make sure injection site is cleaned thoroughly, take your syringe and hold it like a dart and quickly shoot it into the site.  The quicker you do this, the less painful it is.  The slower you shoot the needle into the injection site, the more discomfort it is for the patient.  I found this to be very effective with B-12 injections, Depo Injections, Hormonal Injections, and Rhogam Injections.
